Masters of the Air Turn 4

We are now into January/ February 1944. The Allies want to land in France in the Summer. The Axis have given up their medium bombers in France. They have less single engined fighters in the west of Germanty than they had before but they are better quality. The Allies are punishing the German industrial output. Hitler weeps as the US deploy another B17 and an extended range P51D fighter and a P38 lightning agile heavy fighter with a decent range too. The RAF gain a Pilot but do not put the Welllington back on. The Italians produce a MC202 single engined fighter in Rome and have a Pilot to fly i. The Germans produce a pilot and a Me410 heavy fighter. The game lists it as a night fighter but it wasn't used as that in real life so I won't be using it that way either.  The weather is snowy. The Allies move their planes from the US to the UK. The Italian fighter moves to Milan to protect it from US bombers. Theweather remains snowu. Nevertheless the US sends a wave of bombers straig

Masters of the Air Turn 3

The November/ December Turn opens. Germany gets another Pilot so deploys a new FW190 in the Ruhr and brings an older Bf109 out of reserve there - only 2/10 of a Pilot needs to be lost before it goes into mothballs but it will be there to help whilst it can. A new flak division arrives in Berlin. The older flak division there will get moved elsewhere. The RAF gets a second Halifax heavy bomber and pilot. The US gets a new B17 and an extra Pilot on top.  The weather remains Stormy so only rebasing is allowed. The new flying fortress arrives in East Anglia. The old flak division in Berlin is rail moved to Bucharest - it will become active next Turn. The Bf110 moves closer to the Ruhr. With 4 single engined fighter units as well Hitler is confident his fighters can keep the Allies at bay.  Next phase the weather becomes Fair. Hitler curses as this means bombs even in Winter. The Allies strike for Hamburg with RAF medium and heavy bombers and US heavy bombers fly over the North Sea to avoi

Masters of the Air Turn 2

This Turn starts with reinforcements. Germany has one figher and one pilot to fly it. It has a fighter next Turn but no Pilot (it can only make one pilot every 2 turns). So it can either choose to put a fighter in France or  Germany into reserve now so it's Pilot is available for next Turn or pay 2 Victory Points (VPs) to put either a ground attack plane or medium bomber or fighter unit from Italy or the Eastern Front into Reserve (it's assumed that by doing this you cause a major weakening on those Fronts). They put an older fighter in Stuttgart into reserve. There's also no Rumanian figher so that is removed. The Germans should have an additional heavy fighter so the Ju88 is placed in NW Germany and the Bf110 night fighter placed in souh Germany. The Commonwealth (CW) should also have a heavy fighter instead of a third single engined fighter so the Mosquito night fighter is chosen instead of the older Spitfire VB. The CW deploys a Tempest fighter with a Pilot to fly it.
